In 2010 as my son, Ryan was planning for his October wedding; he asked if I would make them a unique ceramic communion cup for their ceremony. I was delighted to be asked and to say yes. I actually made four of them so they could have a choice of colors. They went for the rust color that was also my favorite. These were thrown on a potters wheel and glazed in the kiln in my studio.
As I researched the options for an engraved metal medallion, I was amazed at the limited choices for size. I thought of my friend, John Baldwin who owns Oster Pewter in Providence. His company supplies pewter in various forms to artists and to industry. He quickly came to my aid and made exactly what I wanted and also arranged for the engraving and finishing.
