Planar Expression #1…….2014

This piece is welded aluminum with a cherry wood base.  It seeks to balance two planes which are similar but not identical.  This gives it a sense of symmetry and tension at the same time.  Aluminum plate was cut with a plasma cutter and welded.  The finish is achieved with a grinder.  This is the first of two that are being done as a series.
